Evaluating Your Relationship With Your Partner

evaluating your relationship with your partner
Relationship Questionnaire? What if you had to consider this before choosing a mate?

For example: What if people (male and female) asked themselves this question before choosing a person to have a relationship with? Would this person take care of me during a serious illness or surgery? Would they doctor my wounds( no matter how distasteful they are), sit with me while in surgery, and take time off of work to care for me? Do you think people would be less likely to have affairs or to jump into relationships with the wrong person if they truly thought through that person’s character? Dating and office romances are exciting. Real life isn’t always. What are your thoughts on things people should use to evaluate potential partners?

I actually did think on questions like this when dating.. I asked myself if I would be able, willing to do that… if I would be willing to able to hold whomever I was dating we were married and he for whatever reason could not well…. be romantic? after all… if we are gonna grow old together… well… ya know… I don’t need to finish that right? okay… on that track… would I be able to stand seeing the wrinkly old man and see him as the adonis I fell for…. if we both made it to old age…. would I sit and care for him if he had alsheimers (sorry can’t spell it?) or senility? would I care for him thru terminal illnesses…. what about him…. would he? would I mind if his character were such that he would not “stick around” and am I willing or able to hold him, love him for the time we could have… and with love let him go if he could not be there for me when I needed him? the answer was yes twice…. and once that was tested… I let him go with love and wishing him happiness though.. so it must work somewhat to ask the odd, deep, quirky kind of questions…. morbid… but yes… marriage or any meaningful relationship is something we want around “forever” so we would have to think ahead of the worst… and then hope for only the best…. least I think so…
